12 week program (8 week in class / 4 week portfolio development)

SPFX is a unionized trade recognized for the detail and effort that goes into making imaginations come to life with such things as Body Art, Masks, Wounds, and Other Techniques. The movie industry is one of the primary focuses for our Special Effects program but can also be seen in Military and Medical Reenactments and Special Events. The creativity involved in the daily work of special effects artists can be just as rewarding as the financial incentives. Artists get to create new species, age models and actors in minutes and bring old monsters back to life.


This course is ideal for:

Those wishing to work on theatre production, film and television sets
Those wishing to work in fashion, and runway
Those who enjoy exploring their imagination

Those wishing to work in theatre, television, and film.
Thos looking to gain recognition/ membership from IATSI

Essential Make Up Program
12 week program (8 week in class / 4 week portfolio development)

Essentially a 'foundation course' in professional make-up application, these skills are essential before moving on to creative and special effect make-up styles. This course provides excellent training in professional make-up skills up to bridal and 'special occasion' level and leads to industry recognized qualifications.

This course is ideal for:
Those wishing to work freelance doing bridal makeup
Those wishing to work in a retail environment, selling make-up, advising on skincare and make-up
Those wishing to start a career in professional make-up and want to see if (a) they like it and (b) they are talented enough to pursue such a career
Those wishing to progress on to more advanced make-up courses and need a foundation to start from

Advanced Make Up Program

Advanced Makeup Artistry Students will enjoy learning advanced techniques that can be applied towards a variety of clientele and creative projects. This program was designed to equip the student with the highly developed skills needed to excel in the progressive industry of Makeup Artistry.

This course is ideal for:
Those wishing to start a career in professional make-up
Those wishing to work with commercial and private clients
Those wishing to work in fashion, and runway
Those wanting to become Professional Makeup Instructors

ONLINE SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

Each year Numa International Institute of Makeup and Design offers several Makeup Artistry scholarships to incoming new students. These awards are determined on a competitive basis and require the submission of an Makeup portfolio + an artist’s statement, or proof of a related degree or certification + an artist’s statement. All students are encouraged to participate in this process. Applicants must meet Academic Requirements
